Job Center

A Job Opportunity Center will be set up at ICOPS 2015. The job center serves to facilitate contact between individuals seeking work and prospective employers (including those in private industry, federal labs, and universities). The job center is a free, voluntary service covering several related fields, including plasma physics, pulsed power, high power microwaves, and fusion.

Job postings will be displayed on Evernote and will also be posted at the conference on a dedicated bulletin board. Resumes will be made available on a separate Evernote site to registered job placement center recruiters. Interviews are possible onsite at ICOPS/BEAMS if candidates/recruiters are available but attendance at the conference is not a requirement to participate in the placement center!

In previous years the placement center has been able to help engineers, physicists, mathematicians and technologists make contact with prospective employers.

Individuals interested in employment opportunities should send their resumes (in pdf format) via email to ICOPSjobfair@gmail.com. Please include “ICOPS 2015 resume” in the subject line. Resumes should include citizenship (needed for positions in certain research laboratories) and be limited to one page in order to be most useful. If an individual will not be attending the conference, please note this when sending in the resume. Again, participation in the conference is not required to participate in the job fair.

Employers interested in recruiting should send a job posting (in pdf format) via email to ICOPSjobfair@gmail.com. Please include “ICOPS 2015 jobs” in the subject line, and please make a note on the posting if a position has special requirements, such as extended travel duties or the ability to obtain a security clearance. If an employer would like to interview applicants at the conference, please note this when sending in the job posting (we will try to make space available for interviews).

Registration information for the Evernote resume site will be sent to the employers contacting us to allow the resumes on this site to be viewed by them.

Participants with questions should feel free to contact us at t.c.grabowski@ieee.org or safronovaalla@gmail.com.

Thanks for your time, and we look forward to seeing you at ICOPS 2015!
